Fragments Patched I / Fragments Patched II, 2013.

Textile, paper, cyanotype, natural dye, wax (16cm x 16cm).

Walking and recording responses to landscape, the work aims to capture fleeting memories of place through layers of colour, image and media. Printed and stained with natural dyes, materials are imbued with the essence of a place and, by using techniques of cutting, patching and piecing together the work captures an imperfect image, as memory too is fragmented and altered. Preserved in wax, the patchwork pieces join together moments of memory to create a new recollection of place and time.

Fragments Patched I and II were exhibited in 'Pinpoint' 2013 at One Church Street Gallery, Great Missenden, Bucks.
